The film chooses a subject that evokes pity from all of us – lockdown birthdays. Whether you’re
an introvert or not, the thought of being forced to spend your birthday all alone, shut away from the world, is a unanimously
dreaded thought. 
A woman orders a food delivery on her birthday and doesn't pay heed to the safety measures. Such an oversight might be familiar for some of us for it is easy to give in to the false security of the pandemic not harming us, and that it won't hit us if we’re inside our house. However, soon
after, strange occurrences begin to happen one after the other in her life. Shadows and lights are employed to invoke an atmosphere of thrill and foreboding, raising the question at the heart of the narrative - will ordering food from outside during a pandemic prove to be a point of no return for the protagonist?

Roshni Datta takes the cake for being the most skilled and charming aspect of Sweety Sonu Ki Filmy Love Story, both as an endearing character as well as the director of the film. The story is of a man and a woman who find themselves falling in love as they watch each other from their respective windows. However, right when their love story is about to take off, it is met by a hurdle most couples in the Indian society battle - gossip of neighbours and family members. Before this obstacle can even begin to be tackled, fate sends something far more formidable their way - the coronavirus lockdown, marked by its social distancing norms. The film employs poetry, music, song and dance to tell its story, and concludes with a wonderful message about the triumph of love over hate. The narrative is colourful, vivid and the kind of warmth a viewer might desire during the bleakness of contemporary times.

The plot of the film is essentially a conversation that the protagonist is having with himself. The social distancing norms which the coronavirus lockdown has ushered in with itself has led him to achieve some significant realisations about himself as well as the world around him. From bad habits now being consumed by better ones, from cooking to finally allowing himself some introspection, the film engages with them all to communicate its intentions to the viewer. The plot is direct, simply attempting an exploration of sorts of this physical as well as mental isolation, and the manner in which it comes to influence and mould the protagonists lived reality.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought with it a deep division in people's opinions that threatens to grow more powerful with every passing day. If on the one side there are people, who despite lockdown fatigue, are still trying their best to practice all precautions and health guidelines, on the other hand, there are those who have chosen to deny the gravity of the situation. The film introduces the viewer to both of these sides of the argument, put together entirely in the form of telephonic conversations which the actors perhaps shot from their own residential spaces. The narrative thus becomes educational in nature, reminding the audience of the pandemic that very much exists irrespective of our denial or acceptance.

A man steps out with a mask and a helmet to get something from the market. He sees the long queues
and decides to come back home. Despite washing his face as soon as he had come back, he begins to feel strange occurrences around him. Anyone who has watched enough films
on the Covid-19 situation would expect the ghost to be the virus which either consumes him for being
careless or delivers a benevolent lecture on health guidelines. But this ghost is neither. Watch the
film to be amused.
