A wonderful short film, Doodho Nahao Pooto Phalo is made of the simplest, but deeply touching moments. The story, straight at first glance, unfolds to reveal the complexities of attachment, fidelity and hurt. At the heart of the film by MensXP is the love story of Nikhil and Radhika, portrayed in the most beautiful manner by the actors. Adding an extra flavour to it is a grumpy grandmother, an endearing domestic help and an annoying younger sibling. Amidst all of this is a hassled mother, eager to get her daughter to like the boy and vice versa. As the situation unravels despite her best efforts, the viewer is left smiling at the innocent manner of storytelling of DNPP.

The short film is a wonderful exploration of the last day of a broken up couple, moving out to go their separate ways. However, amidst all the fight and conflict who will have their claim to the little, white cat Coco? While the two are busy revisiting old fights, still unable to reach a resolution, Coco has plans of her own. The question is would the viewer be able to decide sooner than Coco what her fate should be? The film by MenXP is well-written with sophisticated camerawork, however, a slightly shorter length would have ensured a tautness that would have worked in its favour.

Coco Ki Custody | Short Film of the Day

Swipe Right is a well-written and elegantly executed short film. It takes the viewer into the life of a young couple that meets over a dating app and hits it off immediately. As the two prepare for their first date, the stage is set for the audience to go deeper into the equation between romance and the virtual world. The story remains unpredictable till the end and gets enhanced further by convincing performances of the two lead actors. Made as part of MensXP's Love on the Rocks series, the film is a wonderful exploration of modern day dating.
