A scientist believes he has accomplished the biggest invention of his life: the time machine. This is the
premise of the film. Through stylistic elements of the essential sci-fi genre, such as the speeding
computerised aesthetic, ticking clock sounds, pop-ups, and so on, the film attempts to place itself in the
category.
However, the writing and the pace don’t quite match-up to the innovation the film promises in the story. The mad scientist trope is established too soon, and thus quickly becomes jaded, keeping the film from being all that it could have been.
