Tanquha

'Salary' is a lovely story that ties past and present together, and presents its non-linear narrative to the viewer to interact with. The film is not marked by garish tools, but remains simple in its approach and execution. As Shiv returns to his village, perhaps after many years, he is immediately met by a deluge of memories. The paths that were once covered by horse-driven buggies, are now traversed by motor vehicles.

The bridge of his childhood still exists, but in the present, he visits all of these haunts without his companion Sandeep. And yet, there is a calm to be found in the mellow wind that blows through the fields, reminding him of the first 'salary' he ever earned in the same fields many years ago.
