The lockdown following the coronavirus pandemic ensured that academics and education got confined to screens. As teachers struggled to acquire a much-needed knowledge of technology they might not have been acquainted with previously, their students, on the other hand, got the opportunity to snooze, slack and find ways to skip classes. The short narrative is a portrayal of the same situation, also endeavoring to amuse the viewer by introducing them to the protagonist and his dreams.

Mute | Lockdown Film Challenge

Five strangers react to a message to join a strange video call. These are people who don’t know each
other, but are connected in some uncanny way. The mystery-man, who has organized this video
conference, knows each one’s secret and threatens to unmask it to the world if they didn’t follow his
instructions. Unable to leave, the strangers have to rack their brains to find out the baffling common
chord that binds these personalities together. The film aims to invoke an atmosphere of suspense with an imminent threat of dire consequences if the characters don't do his bidding. Almost the entirety of the story is allowed to unfold using the same space of the screen split into six grids. However, when the narrative has run its course, what will be the fate of its characters?

Two friends get on a video call during the coronavirus lockdown. However, things are not as simple as they seem for their communication finds several obstacles in its path. From excited pets to confused grandparents to poor WiFi connections, the call is marked by all of these interruptions. The duration of the video is also marked by attempts at humour and animation to share its story. Amidst it all, will the two girls truly be able to complete their call in peace?
