The film maps the developments over a period of one week and takes us into a unique relationship - unique for it only shows one partner throughout its duration. The romance is a budding one, and is marked by all the troughs and crests of such a relationship. From sudden expressions of love, to coolness that leads to conflict - it is complete with it all. As the story progresses, this conflict begins to make its presence felt more and more until it takes the form of indifference. The film is interesting in the revelation it eventually makes at the climax, after having been characterized by the ubiquitous presence of smartphones and technology to the extent of them being an obsession and addiction so far. It is also equipped with notable camerawork and elegant angles that exhibit skill and an ease with technique. As for the fate of the lovers that these visuals capture, which unexpected turn would their story take next?

The film begins with a warning: stare in the dark for too long, and you will eventually see what isn’t
there. 
A man’s wife has died under mysterious circumstances. He has recurrent nightmares about losing her. He
misses her, and perhaps, for that reason, sleeps on a couch in the living room instead of his bedroom.
He shares with us that it is just his cellphone which keeps her memory alive for him; a sentiment that is
ominous and powerful. This is, indeed, an interesting premise for a modern horror story and it does
spook you off.

The film opens with the image of a young boy in deep discomfort. He is restless and agitated and cannot seem to find that one thing that he is desperately looking for. Soon his parents enter the scene, trying their very best to keep him away from a particular object. It has been made clear by this point that the object in question is one that is deliberately kept away from the boy to fight an addiction. There are also suggestions of familial discord that perhaps led him to seek comfort in it. While the film has set itself up for an important comment on addiction and its detrimental effects, it endeavours to undercut the viewer's expectations about the nature of this addiction at its climax, along with concluding with an important message to leave them with.

Addiction | Short Film Nominee

The film is a notable endeavour in the manner in which it is shot entirely on the phone and is a result of the efforts of its single-member-cast and crew. It is a simple story told in a straight and direct manner. The plot opens on the first day of the national lockdown when a boy wakes up early morning to take care of all his tasks. While he may have stuck to his decided routine for a day, will he be able to achieve the same discipline and determination on the second day as well? The film raises the question and aims an answer along with a message about dreams and hard work to leave the viewer with.

Wake Up | Short Film Nominee

When we got confined indoors in 2020, away from all our usual external distractions, chores, hobbies and tasks, the one thing most of us found ourselves turning to was technology, and the short film is an engagement with the same proposition. Without revealing its cards right at the first instance, the narrative develops slowly, finally leaving the viewer with the message it had set out to convey. At the heart of it, lies a pertinent question - are you using technology or is technology using you?

Nauker/Maalik | 2020 Film Challenge

The film attempts a comedic and entertaining narrative about a boy's (mis)adventures of stumbling across a smartphone application. What it does is allow him to take different avatars in different settings. The film shows a desire to innovate by weaving visuals shot by different actors in their own individual settings. The plot has an unexpected conclusion, one that further adds to the woes of a bored protagonist. Locating itself in the year 2021, where the world battles an unnamed pandemic, technology has allowed him a little escape from his reality, to be whoever he can be. However, what will be his fate when things take a turn for the worse?
