The music video presents a passage of time and the different stages of a relationship nestled within it. What starts as the solitary existence of an artist becomes a journey from isolation to community and forming a family. The video is defined by heartwarming and uplifting visuals. They are then tied with soulful Tulu vocals by Praveen Alva, and a fixed frame, to achieve all of this and some more, with ease. 

 Sometimes stories and narratives try a little too passionately to conjure magic, and ironically, that is precisely where the magic gets lost. For ‘Ninna Suttaya’ (Around You), its simplicity and directness of approach and storytelling remain its biggest strengths, allowing it to convey everything it intends to with lucidity of portrayal and communication.

The film opens with a moment of intimacy and affection and immediately begins a narratorial movement that will come full circle at the conclusion. The distance covered in between, however, paints an entire spectrum of stressors of urban lifestyles in big cities, especially if it involves a move from a smaller one. 


The narrative further ropes in conflict but also the soft and inevitable intimacy that is capable of overcoming it all, no matter how big the obstacle. Rohit and Shruti might not see eye to eye on several things, sometimes even on very core, relationship-defining issues, but their shared love remains an indomitable force. The film also invokes performances and a shared chemistry that is easy and fully supportive of the swiftly developing screenplay and storyline. 'Pillow Talk' efficiently establishes the premise for more such projects, perhaps even longer ones, that should definitely be explored in the future.

The film opens with a quote that establishes the horizon of expectation for the viewer - the constant effort that is needed to nurture and harbor love, to ensure its flame never dims. The narrative breaks itself into three courses of a dinner, but the stages come to stand less for the food itself, and more for the progress of a very crucial conversation that has the power to determine the fate of the relationship we are presented with. 
As the story progresses, the writing, alongside noteworthy performances and the chemistry of the actors, presents a thoughtful exploration of the myriad nuances and complexities that make a relationship. With the passage of time, and the many overwhelming challenges it ushers in, a relationship can morph into something truly alienating and isolating. The film, thus, becomes a story of two people finding their way back to companionship, away from this isolation. The screenplay and narratorial progression ensure that all of these various parts are allowed a sincere engagement and portrayal all along.

The film operates within a realm of contrasts. Using the same frame where a girl sits before a mirror, looking at her reflection, the past and the present are conjured. What was once a place of girlhood and cheer has now become a sight of violence. 

The protagonist’s side was once occupied by companionship, a guardian to watch over her. However, now the space is defined by oppression and violence. All of these images are combined and presented to the viewer, employing a notable performance. The contrast is not simply visual, but audio distortion further serves to drive the message home. The final result employs controlled resources to bring its reality to life, keeping itself cohesive throughout.
