The narrative is an exploration of a single afternoon when the protagonist finds himself in his childhood home. While the film opens with his rejecting his parents' idea of nostalgia, soon we find him giving in to the same sentiment as he stumbles across a seemingly inane object from his past. Thereafter begins a conversation with Chintu, a stuffed monkey who was left behind all those years ago. Essentially, what the toy does is take the protagonist into the deep recesses of his emotions. This inevitably raises questions about happiness, satisfaction and where he is located in life. The film thus becomes an endearing story of an unexpected realisation during a quiet, calm afternoon when all that our protagonist had set out to do was complete a chore for his parents.

The film comes across as an endeavour to understand the self and its many moods. Using a phrase from the space of performance, it titles itself The Fourth Wall, to instead talk about the three things - womb, nature and mirror, that the protagonist finds herself turning to in search of answers. However, does the truth lie in the fourth component of this structure, and if yes, what would this component be? With this question at the core of its premise, the film allows itself to develop. 

The narrative uses no dialogue and primarily a single character to communicate its intentions. It strives for a tone of quietude and calmness. As the protagonist moves from one emotion to another, to truly comprehend the nature of her feelings that seem to overwhelm her, realisations about her being await right around the corner once she finally chooses to let go and smile at it all, suggests the progression of events.

The narrative of the film invokes the complexity of human emotion and how diverse and varied it can be. It further explores the relationship of these emotions with different situations. Their significance in our day-to-day lives is engaged with to be thus presented forth for the viewer.

One Soul Different Emotions | Lockdown Film Challenge

Amidst scenic blue skies, puffy clouds and calm waters lapping against the rugged terrain, the protagonist rests on a rock and muses on life and happiness. His positive aura and energy are countered by a lone drunkard bawling on the phone. 
Poetry being recited by the protagonist grabs the attention of the drunkard, and eventually prompts a friendly conversation between the two. They share their respective difficulties in life, both professional and personal. The protagonist leaves his chance acquaintance with hopes for the future. A final revelation ends up providing a new perspective to both the viewers as well as the characters.

Bas Itni Si Baat Hai | Short Film Nominee

At its heart, the film carries an educational message about philosophy of existence, your approach to life and the importance of having different perspectives in the same situation. It is conveyed through the story of primarily one man who is in an unhappy marriage while also being a person marked by the shortness of his temper. However, his impulsiveness and impetuous behaviour soon lead to devastating consequences, resulting in a realisation about the importance of patience, empathy and understanding. This is the intention of the film that it wants to communicate to the viewer. However it could have achieved more with a little extra fine-tuning in the sound department.

Drukpadam | Short Film Nominee

The short film is the exploration of the futility of an existence that is simply tied to a desk job of regulated hours. It draws attention to the fact that a dull job can drain anyone of their life force, snuff out their desires and isolate them from their friends and family. The film unfolds as a conversation between two men where one asks pointed questions from the other about life, happiness and existence. Unable to find the answers, he finds himself at a pivotal turning point which will come to decide the course of the rest of his life. However, after being shown the mirror about the reality of his life, what will be the fate of our protagonist?

Agnyaathavaasi | Short Film Nominee

The narrative starts en media res with a monologue of the protagonist. The rest of the structure of the film remains the same as he continues with his speech about hopes, dreams and aspirations. The story is him motivating his friend who has found himself down in the dumps. Though the film wants to convey a positive message about working towards what you truly desire, it would have gained with some finesse in the technical department. As the lead character delivers his piece, the sound comes across as requiring more work before being cleared from the edit table.
