The film is embellished with a calm background score, the same tranquility in its pacing, and above all, a reminder to inculcate kindness in a world that is struggling to keep itself together amidst a global pandemic. It opens on a note the viewers would be familiar with - a forced confinement to their homes in order to keep themselves safe in the wake of a reality afflicted by coronavirus. As the protagonist struggles with scarcity of supplies and the general uncertainty that has come to plague our times, there is an important sentiment and attribute he has not yet forgotten. Omelette is a reminder of the same, while concluding with an endearing, warmth-inducing message.

Jayesh Mishra aka Jimmy is extremely excited for his imminent date. After borrowing his friend's appartment for some alone time, he is all set for an intimate rendezvous with Sabhya. As he exchanges last-minute notes with his friend over the phone, his over-zealous preparations lead him to steal a potted plant from the landlord, and thus, all hell lets loose. 

Sabhya arrives with her own motivations and intentions that serve to only add to the chaos. With Van Gogh as the invisible third character present throughout their date, we see an invocation of his art, as well as his madness, and the violence it ushers in. He is coupled with two fluffy cats, whose names also present the title of the film, along with iconic Bollywood hits, all of which are then together thrown into the chaos. 

It is the endeavor of storytelling, the tonality, and the approach applied in its screenplay and visual progression that stand out the most. The writing marked by humor, action, and the unraveling of a heist film constitute this realm which, though showing a little want of control in its chaos, is fast-paced and involving.

What could be a more heartwarming visual than a young boy, wearing a red cape, playing the guitar in a
fantasy concert in his room? All of the above, topped with a cat! 
It is a delightful video which showcases the boy’s passion for music ever since he was a child. The lyrics
complement his dreams and the hope of making it big some day, along with seeing music as salvation. He paints
a picture of his future rockstar-self and puts it on the wall behind his bed, over the posters of
superheroes. The title is apt too, as we see the boy’s obsession with primarily two beings, his cat and his
guitar. 
The continuous juxtaposition of his past, present, and future solely engrossed in one pursuit in this endearing narrative marked by its sophisticated visuals, are perhaps
a way of foretelling that his commitment will bring his dreams to fruition.

Cat Living In A Guitar | Short Film of the Day

The film is unexpected and endearing in the approach it adopts to unfold before you. It opens on a scene which only serves to invoke uncertainty and unease in the viewer, but only to be soon diffused by humour. A boy has been watching and observing cats very closely for a few days now, attempting to imitate their manners. As he learns more and more about the personality of these feline beings, even at the cost of minor injuries and mishaps, the viewer is taken closer to the reason behind all of his antics. When it finally arrives, it would be a sweet conclusion, staying true to the promise the narrative had made at its opening.
