The film is an appealing story, primarily about a date between two eponymous characters, Dhruv and Taara. The date has been set by their families, introducing them as a prospective match for marriage. The common thread that ties the two characters together is astrology. However, they are both on extremely differing ends when it comes to their opinions on the same. While one of them has deep devotion and faith in it, the other sees the divine and karma as more powerful forces. 
The conversation that develops thereafter is marked by endearment, shared, mutual affection and a charming love story that is simply waiting to happen.

Astrology and finding a groom for your young, unmarried daughter are not only primary concerns in numerous Indian households, but also often go hand-in-hand, as this short film aptly portrays. It takes us into the story of Artav and Aishi and the several obstacles that come to be strewn on their path to love. Aishi is a headstrong girl who is marked by her kindness towards everyone around her. She wakes up early, exercises, practices music, works hard at her job and shares a loving bond with her family, despite their differences of opinion. Artav is an office senior who finds himself taken by her dynamic personality, and soon a sweet romance develops between the two. The love story comes into its own parallel to the astrological measures that Aishi's mom is making her daughter take for her marriage in the form of a ring. It is through the tying of these elements that the film shares its intentions with the viewer while also providing a subtle, but unequivocal comment on astrological decisions in the face of a person's kindness and good intentions. The film is marked by all the ups and downs of a romance that include opposing parents, unexpected crisis and the eventual return to stability. Number9 is an honest and sincere film which could have, however, been elevated more by a little fine-tuning in terms of its sound.

The film takes us into the life of a protagonist called Lagnesh and introduces us to the strange events that constitute it. He finds superstitious practices put in his way either in the form of his mother's constant nagging, or sometimes in his own stubborn and fixed beliefs. However despite it all, fate does not seem to be favouring him. It is eventually a circuitous path that finally leads him to realise the truth of it all. The intrinsic message of the story is a reminder for the viewer about how detrimental ideas based on superstition, whether of your own or of those around you, can prove to be. As for Lagnesh, towards what kind of outcome is his life headed?

Chappli | Short Film Nominee

Locating itself in mid-twentieth century, the short film adopts a story, titled 'An Astrologer's Day', by the iconic RK Narayan to bring to life its own narrative. We are introduced to an astrologer who meets several clients during the day, advising each of them on their respective matters, while invoking the Hindu god Shiva. One night, however, as his day comes to an end, he is visited by a strange man. The latter invokes images of violence, attempted murder and ideas of revenge. In the process, the film also ropes in ideas of guilt and the manner in which they can affect a person's mental peace. All of these themes are tied together in the form of an honest endeavor to share its story with the viewer.

Amba Paluku | Short Film Nominee

The story takes the viewer into the misadventures of Bratin, a man who finds it difficult to be with the woman he likes from a distance, or perform at his job in his workplace. His rival ends up taking the credit for his idea, as he also successfully woos his love interest, while the protagonist is left by himself to toil for long hours in his office. The narrative moves swiftly from one setting to another, also trying to invoke emotions of isolation and sadness as Bratin is turned into a laughing stock by his colleagues. At the end of his rope, he then turns to astrology, and mysterious potions and tablets provided by a godwoman of sorts called Mata Madonna. Bossikoron endeavours to invoke humour by placing its characters in unlikely and absurd situations. The narrative is marked by a few rough edges which can be more evenly rounded off in future projects by the team. As for Bratin, who is faced with an overbearing mother, rivalry of a competitive colleague, rejection in love, how or will he eventually find the path that leads to his desired life?
