Smaran is a short narrative that wants to offer an engagement with memory, loss, grief, and the consequent effects of the same on someone’s life. The entirety of the story is attempted a development by way of a phone call that the protagonist shares with his mother.
As his thoughts are presented to the viewer over the course of the said conversation, we see a man walking about his room, perhaps his roommate or a close friend, but one who never disturbs him. Instead, he simply moves from one corner of the room to another, keeping to himself. The plot continues to develop to present to you all the thoughts that plague the protagonist’s mind, eventually also revealing the true nature of his relationship with the man that has silently remained beside him all this while.
