Kanke Mental Asylum

By Kovid Mittal with 6.2

thriller · Short Films · hindi

The film begins on a harmless note, one that leaves the viewer unprepared for the disturbing events that soon begin to unfold. A pregnant woman and her husband are on a highway when they stumble across a strange woman. This is followed by more strange developments marked by an eeriness and suddenness that makes the viewer sit up and pay attention.

While the story starts several threads, it keeps them untied, positing itself as only a single part of a larger plot which could justify the uncertainty the audience is left with. Additionally, the male lead addresses his wife as both Aradhana and Amrita at two different points, making the already fast-paced narrative slightly confusing for the viewer. However, the film is marked by its sudden moments of thrill and shock, and leaves the door open for a promising sequel.
