Nabani’s reality is haunted by terrifying secrets that lie in the shadows, calling out to her in the most unexpected, jarring ways. This is our first introduction to the film which reveals its cards gradually to present to a premise far different from what we may have been prepared for.

Instead of the fear and horrors of the supernatural, the film takes us deeper into internal fears conjured by the complexities of the human mind. Metaphors and symbols unite to present Nabani’s struggle with an eating disorder to the viewer.

Despite being hungry and starved, she is unable to overcome the guilt, manifested in the physical rejection of the food by her body, to allow herself something as simple as a meal. In the process, the film draws attention to a compelling issue, and does so in a notable manner, exhibiting potential in storytelling, as well as in the execution of its intentions.
