On the edge of a huge marshy land, three young boys are playing the game of cricket with a hard rubber ball and a twisted tree branch for a bat. While they seem to be enjoying the game, the tense, continuous ‘ring’ in the background sets up a somber and suspenseful mood. The two older boys, Amol and Bittu, pick on Anshu by tossing the ball in far off places, perhaps in an attempt to get rid of him. 
As the innocent boy trails into the tall grass to find the ball, the film cuts to his home where his widowed mother is putting together rice on a wooden chulha. She asks Amol, who is engrossed in a toy, about his younger brother’s whereabouts and after receiving no concrete reply, steps out with a lamp. Concerned and scared, she looks for her boy in the pitch-dark woods accompanied with an unsettling chirping of crickets. During the search, she comes across mysterious, strange incidents - a religious sacrifice, an accident, a loss; narrating a deeper story than intended. 
Inspired by true events, the film appeals to the protectiveness and love of parents, and how more often than not, as kids, we fail to acknowledge and appreciate them for their efforts.

The Lost Son | Short Film Nominee

The short film opens on a harmless note that completely conceals the dark events that will come to unfold soon in the narrative. A young woman is alone at home and getting bored. She decides to order lunch and lets it slip by to the delivery executive that she is by herself. From what develops next, a relevant comment is offered on society, the judicial powers of the country and the stigma attached to survivors of sexual assault. This commentary succeeds a fairly violent scene, potentially triggering for some viewers, and one which would have perhaps benefited from a little nuance. Overall, the film is well-intentioned and exhibits an attempt at style that is further marked by a devotion to the story and its execution.

Soft talk is an imagination of what soft toys talk about when humans go to sleep. All the toys in
the house gather around for a meeting to discuss affairs which are national, social, domestic and even
personal. Quite aptly, this conversation is called 'soft talk'. From creatures of the sea, to pandas, wild animals, each
one participates in a democratic discussion on how the humans are tackling corona. On the level of the
cinematic, the films seems a bit raw, but, perhaps, children may find it enjoyable, funny, and even
useful to understand big, grown-up subjects.
