The short film is essentially a conversation between two women who sit across each other as equals in a static, wide frame that serves to further accentuate this equality. However once you enter the universe of the film, you realise that they are far from being equals, separated from each other on the basis of their social location. Yet the two have managed to achieve a common plane as married women. Delivery Girl is an exploration of internalised patriarchy and how sometimes the biggest instruments of it are women themselves. It further draws attention to the fact that women are not the only victims of it, but men too suffer under a patriarchal set-up. Additionally, it reminds the viewer that gender equality is not an ideology to be believed in as long it's convenient to do so. The two women, played convincingly by Vaibhavi Upadhyay and Krutika Deo, communicate all of this to the viewer through a single conversation. However, despite being written beautifully and effortlessly, the predictability of the plot becomes a weakness of the film.

The short film is well-intentioned and made with a clear idea of its target audience. It's the story of a young couple where the wife is older than her husband and more successful financially. Consequently, there are several obstacles in their journey of acceptance. However, as an angry father dismisses his daughter-in-law, there is a little surprise waiting for him around the corner. The film attempts to draw attention to the balance of tradition and modernity. It further reminds women to not be apologetic for their success and achievements.

The short film is the story of a young architect Nisha, who has been recently married into the Sarabhai family. As she prepares for her first Diwali as part of the new family, she treads a narrow line between protecting her identity and fulfilling the expectations of others. The event managers have been fixed, the saree is ready and guests are about to start coming in. As she is about to step out as a Sarabhai hostess, will Nisha be able to strike a balance between her individuality and what she sees as her duty towards her new family?
