The film premises itself on a gripping point. It traces backwards to the story which goes on to
become news headlines, especially in our contemporary reality. The way it shows the transformation of the private, the personal, the domestic and the interior, to the public, the social and the exterior, is telling of the filmmaker’s desire to deal with complex conceptual issues with clarity and confidence. 

The entirety of the drama unfolds within a single argument between two people. Without saying anything beyond the heated conversation, the film successfully manages to capture the fractures of a domestic space and its effects on the rest of the family members. 

The manner the noise and the silences are contrasted in the narrative is the most outstanding part of the film. Additionally, though the social message that it wishes to give is urgent, the sense of desperation doesn’t clog up its progression. A seemingly single-shot endeavour, marked by the deliberate intimacy brought in with hand-held visuals, Batmi is a seamlessly
achieved final result, made complete by its powerful, convincing performances.

The skill and smoothness of the visuals are the first thing that strike the viewer about Deliverance. After having established the horizon of expectation, the film ensures that it does not dip in its pace or technique as the story unfolds on screen. Two ascetics are performing the last rites of a person when an unexpected woman arrives at this quiet, remote corner of a forest. The brook flows swiftly, threatening to carry a less attentive passer-by with the strong current. Thus, one of the men carries her over his shoulders across the water body. The scene which had thus far been one of simplicity, devoid of any worldly indulgences, is suddenly marked by a potentially visceral sensuality, the all-male space disturbed by femininity. By its own admission, the film is based on a parable about the idea of deliverance or mukti, a sense of perhaps corporeal and, eventually, spiritual liberation that one achieves after a long observation of abstention. Within its folds is also a comment about the importance of controlling your thoughts which eventually become the root of all action, and how futile regulating the latter without the former can prove to be. The same intention is endeavored to be conveyed by employing a cohesive and engaging narrative.

It's an undeniable truth that the deep infestation of technology has altered modern-day romances in a lasting, and sometimes, damaging way. The short film captures the same sentiment in an honest, subtle manner. The nuances of Blank Ceiling become its strength, making it a worthy watch. The scene is set in a single room, the same physical space within which the drama of the entire film will unfold. Two people try to figure out where they are headed in terms of their romantic inclinations and a desire to settle down. Through its exploration of the same, the narrative draws attention to the fractured nature of a dysfunctional equation, one which doesn't offer much to either of its two parties. In a technological jungle of hollow relationships, what would be the fate of those looking for love and companionship?
