The Indian webspace has a new addition that promises to add some colour at the end of your long day. The story is about two young advertising professionals, both trying to step out of their comfort zone. The premise the show sets in its pilot is refreshing and supplemented with decent performances and convincing chemistry. The relationship the two protagonists share is a love story waiting to happen, but will this turn out to be more than they can chew as they already struggle with leaving their comfort zone behind?

A man sits before a woman, sharing recent experiences of a party, along with a discussion of his day-to-day reality. While this might suggest a lightness of tone or the mundaneness of the conversation that is about to unfold, it is far from that. Instead, the moment is marked by unease which is eventually leading towards something terrible. The approach adopted to weave the story is notable in its devotion to build suspense and catch your attention at every development. The film, however, misses out on important points in the department of sound, but should be appreciated for its sincerity and honesty of the endeavor.

On the face of it, the film is simply a young man's struggle to find a lighter in his house. He stumbles across several of them, but none of them manage to conjure a flame. His flatmate, who blares loud Pink Floyd from his room, is of little help, and thus the attempts to light a cigarette continue. The film exhibits potential in the manner in which it is visually weaved - a black and white, single-shot narrative of an indifferent protagonist floating between rooms. His sweatshirt which reads "Stop Making Sense" is focused several times to ensure that it's clear to the viewer the atmosphere the film is trying to create. The crescendo is reached when he finally goes into the room of his flatmate called David, with his takeaway food in his hand. Both the viewer and the character are introduced to a reality neither is prepared for. However, just when he has managed to light his cigarette and a sense of calm has returned after the series of events, would you find yourself prepared for the phone call he is about to receive?

The coronavirus lockdown also brought with it endless misery in the form of India's migrant labourer crisis. As innumerable people found themselves stranded away from home without any livelihood, the nation witnessed an exodus where the workers took it upon themselves to cover a distance of thousands of miles simply on foot. The short film takes the viewer into the same reality by way of three primary characters. It adopts a fictional narrative to talk about something very real - the plight of the labourers in the face of the apathy of those in power to actually help them. There is also a comment on the compulsions and necessities that lead people to double-cross one another, finally concluding the narrative with a shocking development.
