The film sets a premise for a story that perhaps seems like a harbinger of several secrets that are yet to unfold. Consequently, it manages to conceal more than it reveals through its snatched glimpses of light amid shadows and darkness. The film further employs music to conjure its atmosphere of thrill, threatening to soon take the form of horror as events come to a head in the protagonist's life. <br><br> Coupled with jump scares, a seemingly restless dog, blood and the suggestion of imminent violence, Chapter One puts its story forth for the viewer. As the night continues to darken, and nightmares continue to plague our protagonist's sleep, will he truly be able to see what lies on the other side of this darkness?
