The title of the story itself suggests a world predominated by shadows. It wants to bring to life a realm defined by the grey territories of uncertainties and the secrets that lurk in them. Two men are out for a walk late into the night when one of them notices something strange in the alley next to where they are. Despite the fear that darkness instils within him, he finds a strange lure in it. The story wants to employ metaphors and a sense of abstraction to share its intentions with you. As the protagonist begins to make sense of the unusual situation, the film presents the final result to the viewer for them to interact with.

Right at the very beginning Jontro (The Machine) asserts that the narrative is inspired by Satyajit Ray's short story 'Telephone', setting a horizon of expectation for the viewer. The rest of it is simply allowing itself to move from one point to another as the film unfolds. Late at night a man receives a phone call. However, this is not a regular phone call for the speaker on the other end is the most peculiar person, and has even more strange things to say to the protagonist. The plot then develops to bring in ideas of death and time, but also a sense of urgency regarding the decision that would come to determine the character's, a Mr. Gupta, fate.

The film weaves an engaging narrative about two men who are putting their heads together to conceive a horror story. As they go about developing it, interesting insights are provided into the idea of time, the relationship of the supernatural with our existence and how our past in itself is a spiritual entity of its own. The conversation between the two friends is involving and shows investment of thought, enriching and enhancing the story further. However, the film loses crucial marks in the department of lighting, despite the deliberate shadows to maintain the eeriness.
