Along with the health crisis that has followed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, a far darker reality of violence and abuse has also become part of our lived experience. The short film is an exploration of the same, endeavouring to educate the viewer, as well as reminding them to be available for those who might be trapped in disturbing domestic realities of their own.

Do You Hear That? | Lockdown Film Challenge

A woman is sifting through old paraphernalia that has been collected by her father over the years. Combing through forgotten albums, photographs, defunct gadgets and so on, she stumbles across an inconspicuous compartment in her mother's bed, followed by another. A little exploration leads her to a set of names of people and their respective age. <br><br> It is in this way, strange and entertaining at the same time, that the film satirizes a reality most young women (and men) must be familiar with - a marriage network of mothers and their dedication to finding the perfect suitor for their daughters. It exhibits potential in terms of the thought behind the plot, but would have gained from a little fine-tuning of its visuals.
