The film aspires to locate itself within an abstract space of a metanarrative where the story within a story aims to suggest a higher meaning (or the lack of it) about existence. With a near-complete absence of dialogue, it presents its intentions to the viewer in a straightforward, direct manner. Further, the film does not have any fixed pointers to lead you along the way, but leaves much of it open to your own interpretation. The protagonist wakes up every day to perform the same activities over and over again. He bathes, works on a video edit and continues to live with his flatmates, and this becomes the story of his existence - make of it what your understanding would permit, suggests the underlying message in the narrative.

Metasynchronicity | Short Film Nominee

The film showcases a day, as it unfolds, from the roofs and terraces of buildings and houses. We see the
birds, chirping and flying across the sky during the day. We also see them make their journeys back
home at sunset. The way the landscape changes colours, patterns, light and shadow is pretty to watch, along with being coupled with a soundtrack that draws the viewer's attention to itself. However, the film also comes across as exhibiting potential that could have been developed further.

Roof Life | Short Film Nominee

The film strives to belong somewhere at the overlap of an experimental and a noir approach when it comes to its aesthetics and storytelling. Because of the same, the narrative leaves much open to the viewer's own interpretation. It talks of a death that every person has to battle on their own. While it could mean literal death, the film perhaps also suggests a metaphorical death - maybe death of an old self, a bad habit, an addiction or any inhibition that keeps you from being all that you can be? Though the use of shadows and the black and white ambience is intentional, the film could have still gained from a little control on its lighting. This, in turn, would have allowed the events unfolding on screen to be more lucid for the viewer.

Killing Oneself | Short Film Nominee

The video is a putting together of observation footage of Grand Theft Auto, the video game with a massive cult following. As the title suggests, it perhaps wants to explore the human condition using different visuals from the game's universe that invoke violence, high-intensity chases and even perhaps an eventual escape? However, due to its approach and treatment, the plot might fail to find resonance with an audience not familiar with the GTA universe.

Undying Soul Searching | Short Film Nominee

A student is working extremely hard day and night on his project to the extent of having lost all track of time. It is
an art project for which he works with plaster of Paris, a material that requires a lot of water to work
with. The boy has run out of all water in his house and is left with little to no option to complete his project.
With this as premise, the film progresses slowly without any further developments until the conclusion is reached.
