connotation of the phrase, ‘’You are next” is only scary and ominous in the context of the Covid-19 virus
whose unpredictability is its most menacing trait. That it can hit you, even when you feel like you’ve
secured all corners.
The film simply depicts the fear one feels when you’re alone in the house, and a door suddenly opens unprovoked. This is a classic horror trope, which is to be appreciated for it never gets old.
