Yamuna: Current State of the River
By Jai Thakur with 6.6
documentary · Short Films · hindi
The short documentary uses powerful visuals to present forth a very pressing issue - one of water pollution and destruction of the environment, in general, and of the deterioration of Yamuna, in particular. It takes the viewer to the banks of the river and shows hard-hitting images of the manner in which the river was abused and taken for granted by all of us as a society.
The film also brings in some significant voices who express their concerns about the water body's health. Despite its visual strength, however, the narrative could have benefited from a more organic pace, that would have allowed it coherence in its development. Irrespective of this, the film leaves the door open for more such projects by the team.
