Three settings from varied world orders, three key characters that include the common folk and the one, all-superior force, form the backbone of World Zombied. Through the utilization of these elements, the film becomes an exploration of the themes of oppression and liberation.
The vicious cycle of exploitation and injustice inflicted upon the marginalized is presented through parallel narratives. These include the mid-fifties and the magical realism of the mystical Seoni Forests, the realm of goons and gangsters that predominate the eighties, and finally, the present-day of mechanized desk workers.
Indeed, times have changed the world into a progressive and modern society yet the itch to puppeteer others is still prevalent among the custodians of power. From pillaged villages and shady rackets to toxic and unrewarding workspaces- the status quo remains unchanged. Whether the characters will break free from societal shackles and ever be uncaged, thus, becomes the resounding question within the film.
