There are crickets, helicopters, dark warehouses, broken parts of cars, and a naked man tied to a chair.
There could be fewer scenes more menacing than that. Then the slow, graphic torture of the man
begins, and is continued throughout the duration of the film.
The man performing the torture derives
sadistic pleasure out of it. In the end we learn that the tied man was a rapist who was acquitted
by the courts and this revengeful act of brutal violence on him is what qualifies as ‘imperfect justice’.
The subject of penalty for a rapist is a subject that is of wide national debate, and also has enormous
public sentiment attached to it. However, no act of graphic violence is easy to watch, let alone accept.
