Qailah and Ekansh are a loving couple, and yet, our first introduction to the film's world is not by way of this relationship. Instead, it opens on a note that suggests a far darker reality. The story comes to be marked by the endearing chemistry of the two actors, a dedicated desire to share its views with the audience, along with attempting a conversation on issues of mercy killing and organ donation. While sadness and loss come to define the narrative, sometimes even engulfing these intentions, ‘The Waiting Room’ finally pulls itself together as it moves towards the achievement of the final goal of telling an emotional story. This is further coupled with echoing ethical and social realities surrounding the aforementioned concerns.
