The highlight of the film is the plot and the manner in which it unfolds. The Journey of Azad draws attention to a very important concern of the contemporary world - slavery. The narrative delineates how financial strains of a young boy's family are used to lure him into going to Dubai along with his sister.
However, as the film emphatically questions, does all that glitter is gold? There's also a comment to be made about dowry and the manner in which estranged and unmarried women are viewed in certain parts of society. While the film is an ambitious attempt, as a viewer, you might notice the lack of stronger research on the Muslim society.
