The film introduces us to Aditya, a man who has been relieved from his job. However, instead of the despair that should follow this development, we see a strange calm. While a sense of disconcertment lurks under the surface of Aditya's stoic exterior, it is never allowed an expression. 

The narrative soon explores the many reasons behind it - from indifference of family and friends, to a complete dismissal of his inability to cry after a tragedy. All of this is used to question his behavior by the people in his life, but there is no attempt on their behalf to understand the reasons behind it. 

As Aditya embarks on a journey of his own to unpack it, and to finally be able to allow himself the comfort of tears, the plot comes into its own, offering a conversation around toxic positivity and masculinity. There is further the suggestion of how all of these elements together have led to Aditya's inability to cry and express himself in a manner that finally eases the burden of the emotions he has been carrying within. The achievement of this evasive, cathartic release by the protagonist, and the many people and factors that have caused it, thus become the primary preoccupation of the film.

A-mrit | Short Film Nominee

Though once a happy couple, Sam and Leena's relationship is now burdened with the unfulfilled desire of conceiving a child. The two have grown distant and aloof to the point of completely breaking apart. Leena has chosen to move on and get married to a colleague, but the jilted, sullen husband can’t quite come to terms with the decision. 


The course of the film is narrated as the contents of a last note written by Sam is being read out. He talks about his pained existence and how wants to free Leena of any burdens of their past, hence, allowing her to live a happier, fuller life. However, as the narrative proceeds, the film steers towards a dark and irrevocable set of events, that will alter the life of the characters in a lasting manner.

Leena | Short Film Nominee

One of the biggest misconceptions about patriarchy is that it cannot harm men. This is precisely why experiences of sexual assault of male victims are often dismissed and not heard, even by their closest friends and loved ones. The film wants to invoke the same concern by introducing the viewer to the grief of a man who has undergone sexual trauma. The narrative employs the physical space of only a bathroom, coupled with voiceovers and no other dialogue to take you deeper into his experience. An experimental tone and representation is further attempted in the visuals to drive the message home. The film is sincere and wants to raise important questions about one of the lesser known aspects of sexual violence and oppression, presenting forth the same intentions for the audience to engage with.

Muhra | Short Film Nominee

The short film is a sweetly funny take on our locked down reality when we were left to battle our emotions without any external distraction. Expressed through a conversation among personifications of anger, happiness and sadness, respectively, the film shares its intentions lucidly. There is further the attempt to entertain and amuse the viewer at the expense of the three characters before you, employing the banter they exchange. Overall, the narrative eventually comes together as a single, organic unit.

Jouska is a portrait of a broken home and the severe impacts that can have on a child's well-being.
Well into his youth, a son cannot undo the damages done on his psyche by his toxic and abusive father.
As he grapples with the trauma, he decides to make a turn towards finding closure. However, that
closure can only come at the cost of severing all ties. The film aims to be an engagement with the familial space that is often marked by conflict, emotional abuse, and the consequent baggage that gets left behind in their wake. While the protagonist struggles to make a decision, what will he eventually choose?

Jouska | Short Film Nominee

The film opens with a young man photographing freshly cut apples and oranges for his Instagram story about a healthy lifestyle. However, in reality, several wrappers of junk food crowd his bedroom floor. 
After sometime, he receives a text message from an unknown girl who claims he is an important part of her life. They converse in the same manner for a couple of weeks and develop a deep friendship and ultimately, decide to meet. When face-to-face, he recognises her as the acid attack survivor he had helped get to the hospital a couple of months ago. Despite running the danger of over-simplification when it comes to its thematic concerns, the plot offers a well-intentioned message to the viewer using the story of these two strangers.
