An overworked employee is on his way back home after a long day of work. Little does he realize that across the platform from where he stands, the most wonderful surprise awaits him. In front of him stands his office crush, a girl he has never had the courage to interact with properly. As a sweet love story unfolds simply by way of actions, and no words shared between them, the two actors present an endearing exchange, marked by dedication to their characters. 
The narrative remains marked by romance and humor, keeping the viewer engaged. At the heart of this seemingly inane love story also rests an important social message, one that is pronounced in the title of the film. The final result presents a zealous and competent endeavor in combining the two, the romance and the message, and sharing it with the viewer.

The short film is a modern day parable about kindness, rebirth, and hope. It weaves a competent story to share the same message with the viewer. A blind man works hard at selling pens by the roadside, somehow making ends meet for both him and his mother. However, because he is left vulnerable, there are those around him who do not hesitate from taking advantage of him. 

Despite being robbed of a crucial sum of money, his heart does not harden, and he continues to approach the world with kindness. It is this unwavering sense of always helping others, no matter the situations meted out to him, that indeed aids in making the world a better place, suggests the narrative. Though a little heavy on the sentimental value, the film is well-intentioned and leaves the viewer with an important message about the importance of kindness, generosity and their role in helping someone reform and mend their ways.

Puthiyaa Paarvai | Short Film Nominee

As the title conveys, the film is made with a noble intent of spreading awareness on the importance of
social distancing in the times of the global pandemic. There are four characters in this forty-five-second-long
short: Ussss, Pussss, Dhussss and Lucky. Interestingly, the human characters are named on sounds, and
the dog is actually given a human name, Lucky. It’s a film meant for children, with Play-Doh
puppets for leads, an amateur drawing for setting, and the desire to tell the kids the right way to maintain
physical distance from each other in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
