The entirety of the story is the protagonist, Shini’s monologue, as she reflects on the idea of memory and the passage of time. Central to the narrative is a camera, which comes to play an important role in all of this. 
As Shini watches other people disregard her presence, until she eventually forces them together within the same frame, a memory is frozen in time. In the process, the film further becomes a rumination on an important contrast between the past and the present, a contrast that pertains not simply to the protagonist, but also, and very visibly so, to her surroundings. The same is achieved with visuals that show skill, and a screenplay that supports it in the same manner.

The film aims to map several emotions by introducing us to the experiences of its protagonist Poomukhil. The story opens with the endlessness of nature as the solitary figure of a woman is located against it. Magizhini is a travel photographer who reveals that barely a year ago, her life was far from this. 

The film thus begins a flashback. Poomukhil enters the plot and lays down his own journey of a tragic accident which left him with fifteen months in a coma, and temporary memory loss. As he comes out of it, trying to find his bearings once again in life, his path crosses with an unexpected character. This character is no other than Magizhini who finds her way next to Poomukhil. However, in this circumstance Magizhini is blind. 

The subsequent story becomes a sincere and heartfelt exploration of passion, love for one’s art, the role of fate as well as self-doubt and fear of uncertainty. Though the control of visuals sometimes loosens, the overall end result remains a complete product with balanced components, further supported by a background score, which ties the entire plot and screenplay together to present it to the audience.

The film begins on a sombre note, suggesting the grimness that would come to constitute the entirety of the narrative. Through a first person recounting of events, the viewer is introduced to the protagonist's struggle to attain artistic satisfaction in his photography. The question intrinsic to the film remains that when he finally manages to organise such an exhibition, would it also be his last? As the plot moves towards its conclusion, violence and the adverse consequences of an overburdened mind define the progression of events. A couple, once happily in love, is now marked by conflict and despair. When there is little to no possibility of finding success, happiness or hope in his art or personal life, what adverse step would the protagonist take?

The Final Exhibition | Short Film Nominee

The short is a glimpse into a single struggle and moment that the protagonist is battling. He is agonizing over capturing the perfect shot when a sudden, strange development allows him a new perspective into the circumstance. After he ends up time traveling, and he secures the opportunity to observe his pursuit of the photograph from an external point of view, his approach changes in a seismic manner. This, in turn, also becomes the plot's primary message for the viewer, to always remember the joy and happiness they had attached to an act of creativity while embarking on it. The effect of this on the young photographer's fate enforces and reiterates the significance of the same joy.

The Perfect Shot | Short Film Nominee

The short film allows its drama to unfold within the confines of a single room where a boy one day stumbles across a strange camera. He soon discovers that the gadget can make things disappear mysteriously if their images are deleted from it. But can anything good come from an object as sinister as this?
