Mandar wakes up late one afternoon to find himself fully unprepared for a crucial job interview. As his hilarious misadventures with relentless telemarketers continue, the viewer is further introduced to his dismissive, verbally abusive, and brusque manner of handling these phone calls. However, matters come to a head when his path crosses with Nikita, a determined and focused telecaller who has her own goals firmly set. 

The ensuing story becomes entertaining, amusing the viewer with the antics of its characters, while also portraying the importance of a shift in perspective. The tonality remains lighthearted and playful throughout, alongside the chemistry of its actors, which remains equally notable, ensuring that the film succeeds in communicating all of its intentions without weighing itself down.

The film opens in a room where a boy busies himself before a canvas. However, a sudden noise makes him drop everything and flip open his laptop. The urgency of his manner as well as the writing behind him which suggests a '95%' as his goal, makes it clear to the viewer that the narrative will be about the struggle between an academic score and the protagonist's passion for painting. The film is marked by its pretty visuals, smooth camerawork and a positive message about hope and perspectives that can help one overcome the peer, familial and societal pressure of securing a sky-high percentage in their examination. Even though the relationship in itself might still be something precious, the various elements that encouraged it in the first place, might not always be present. The consequent change in your comfort zone can often lead to a sense of loneliness and isolation. It is precisely this thought that the film deals with, taking the viewer into the life of a boy called Arjun. As three of his closest friends, people he had also shared a house with, move out and carry on with their journeys in different cities, he is left to ponder the meaning of friendship, missing someone, feeling alone and eventually finding a way to conquer it all with a little help and perspective from someone he never considered more than a stranger.

Life shows how different individuals, when faced with the same problem, have different reactions to it. Some might ponder over it momentarily, but eventually move on, leaving it behind as is. However, there are some who might attempt to look for a solution, and it is indeed those who change the world. This, in a nutshell, is what the short film leaves the viewer with.

A young, overworked corporate employee has to deal with the never-ending pressure of multiple project submissions, deadlines and a nagging boss on a day-to-day basis. To add to the extensive work and repeated calls from his superior, on this particular day, his food delivery is delayed by more than twenty minutes. 
When the food finally arrives, the man lashes out at the meek delivery person who attempts to pacify the situation by apologizing. Still, the man brutally berates him, calls his own job far more important than the simple task of delivering food, and slams the door shut. This short film presents the perspective of lower wage workers and the ordeal they have to go through dealing with self-righteous, privileged members of society. It communicates the message of being humble and respectful to one and all.

Nazariya | Short Film Nominee

At its heart, the film carries an educational message about philosophy of existence, your approach to life and the importance of having different perspectives in the same situation. It is conveyed through the story of primarily one man who is in an unhappy marriage while also being a person marked by the shortness of his temper. However, his impulsiveness and impetuous behaviour soon lead to devastating consequences, resulting in a realisation about the importance of patience, empathy and understanding. This is the intention of the film that it wants to communicate to the viewer. However it could have achieved more with a little extra fine-tuning in the sound department.
