Two strangers strike an unlikely bond when they are pushed together into a circumstance in an even more unlikely manner. A pickpocket is entrapped by a young woman, also his greatest admirer, into teaching her what she views as his art and skill. 
Through the misadventures of the two, confined to a single night, the film presents a story that is marked by the devotion of its cast, a notable visual approach, and editing choices, alongside an equally complementary background score. The film remains true to its stylistic choices throughout, and though not entirely devoid of a few rough edges, the voice and storytelling exhibit not only deep potential but also freshness. 

While a pursuit that is as isolating as pickpocketing and theft is viewed as art by one, it simply remains an act of survival for the other. However, an unexpected moment of companionship is nestled within the many layers of the heist and the action that unfold before the viewer. The narrative does a sincere, meticulous job of achieving and portraying this moment.

The First Time They Spoke | Spotlight

Jayesh Mishra aka Jimmy is extremely excited for his imminent date. After borrowing his friend's appartment for some alone time, he is all set for an intimate rendezvous with Sabhya. As he exchanges last-minute notes with his friend over the phone, his over-zealous preparations lead him to steal a potted plant from the landlord, and thus, all hell lets loose. 

Sabhya arrives with her own motivations and intentions that serve to only add to the chaos. With Van Gogh as the invisible third character present throughout their date, we see an invocation of his art, as well as his madness, and the violence it ushers in. He is coupled with two fluffy cats, whose names also present the title of the film, along with iconic Bollywood hits, all of which are then together thrown into the chaos. 

It is the endeavor of storytelling, the tonality, and the approach applied in its screenplay and visual progression that stand out the most. The writing marked by humor, action, and the unraveling of a heist film constitute this realm which, though showing a little want of control in its chaos, is fast-paced and involving.

The film brings to life a heist narrative, conjuring elements of surprise, stress, betrayal, and each character trying to outsmart the other. The question that thus becomes central to the story is - who will succeed at this game of deceit and self-serving interests? 

Utkarsh has found himself in a sticky soup, and he now struggles to retrieve a whopping sum of ten crore rupees from a powerful rival. He ropes in the help of his brother-in-law and friend Mahesh to somehow secure the money. Employing a theft of diamonds from a museum, the two come up with a foolproof plan to get their nemesis to pay up.


Throughout the story, the woman common to both men as wife and sister, respectively, Payal, remains a meek presence who offers her help only from the margins. The film portrays all of these characters and their many actions with ease, alongside keeping the viewer engaged in what unfolds next, eventually concluding with a shocking development of events that ties it all together into a single unit.
