The film essentially invokes a conversation around the relationship of skill and opportunity. It engages with its subject matter by also blurring lines between fact and fiction towards the second half, when the viewer is left unsure where the protagonist ends and the actor begins, and vice-versa.
As the title suggests, a fixed frame comes to constitute the entirety of the narrative which is about the struggles of its only character to secure a job. He moves from one rejection to another, while simultaneously battling personal loss, until the climax of the story.
