The Covid-19 lockdown emphasized the huge disparity between the haves and the have-nots. Following the same vein of thought, the film first portrays a reality marked by those with the privilege of a loving house, warmth of a family and a regular job that ensures food arrives on the table for every meal and family member. However, in direct contrast to this are the stories of domestic abuse, violence, toxic familial dynamics, to name a few, that also showed a disturbing rise as we all found ourselves within the confines of our houses, underlines the plot.
The narrative of Sha Lyndet Ka Lockdown (Behind the Lockdown) is an attempt to engage with the same chasm, also bringing to life a conversation on alcoholism and addiction, and its far-reaching effects on a family.
