‘Roop’ operates within an otherworldly space of symbolism that indeed works in its favor. The intentions of the plot are allowed an expression that is completely in line with this approach and tonality.

The narrative discusses form, both as a defining characteristic of an idea, belief or ideology, as well as the manner in which it molds, aids and forms the existence of those around it. From a belief in the divine and supernatural, to simply an object to be captured on a camera lens - a location becomes the center of it all.

The interaction of the same spot with different characters is what forms the body of the film. Dividing itself into five parts, namely Bindu, Aura, Mann, Maya and Roop, the end result presents of these myriad interactions for us to converse with as well. While there is a little inconsistency in terms of the sound of the film, the overall storytelling exhibits potential and should definitely be engaged with more in future creative pursuits.
