drama · Short Films · bengali

The film chooses a deeply disturbing subject for its premise - the Mumbai terror attacks of 2008. The narrative pivots on one dark night in Kolkata where a young man is alone at home. His parents have decided to go to the Taj hotel in Mumbai to celebrate their anniversary. However, as phone calls are missed and the night gets darker, a disturbing reality awaits the protagonist when he wakes up from his nap.

The story is an attempt to portray the helplessness of someone whose loved ones are in danger. What it further does is take the drama away from Mumbai and instead attempts a unique approach to delineate it from a different city. There is a sincerity of thought which is apparent in the progression of the story. As the protagonist frantically moves from one potential source of help to another, little is available to rescue his parents. The plot further progresses to reveal an unexpected turn. However, will it be a comforting, positive one, one that the viewer has unconsciously hoped for all along or would it be something far worse?
