‘Remnants’, a short animation film executed on the 3D graphics tool, Unreal Engine, conjures a reality of loss and grief left behind in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the film’s opening, a newspaper headline about overwhelming oxygen shortages establishes this world for us.
The rest of the visual development then becomes a glimpse into a life that once was, what existence used to be, marked by inane objects that constituted a life before it was ravaged by tragedy. Underlying it all, however, is also the reminder that no matter the scale of loss, the world continues to move ahead as the passage of time marches forth.
