The short documentary film employs the annual fair in Pushkar, Rajasthan, to make a case for inherited culture and heritage. It takes the viewer into the several facets of this colourful fete marked by shopping, food and an undeniable and unshakable sense of community. As villagers get together at this event, which receives over two hundred thousand visitors every year, both locally and from overseas, the same proposition is further asserted.
Along with the colours and all kinds of activities and handicrafts that make their presence felt at the fair, which initially began solely as a camel trading event, Pushkar also has a holy significance. It is the sight of the Brahma Temple, one where scores of people make pilgrimages every year. The film is an intermingling of all of these elements, presented forth for the viewer to engage with.
