‘Phillip’ is a story that involves several characters and the unexpected ways in which their paths overlap. The plot building is the predominant aspect of the film. It is further combined with a background score and an edit that enhance its storytelling to try and keep the viewer engaged.
The major part of the drama and action unfolds one evening when a man called Phillip arrives at a doctor’s office. Dr. Vishvas is visibly disconcerted to see this new visitor, but soon gains his bearings, and the session commences. A story of deceit, violence, and voyeurism develops, while simultaneously introducing us to the lives and lived reality of the characters before us. The film, however, does exhibit the want of a little more consistency and stability in its visuals, along with not having utilized its actors to their full potential.
The storytelling, nevertheless, remains a notable characteristic, taking us into the dark annals of the human psyche, both by way of a mental illness, and the dark, twisted intentions of a mind which is afflicted by a kind of sickness that the viewer might not have preempted at first glance.
