Using only vertical frames of video calls, the narrative of the film is constituted entirely by a young woman's frantic search for her missing mother. As family members and friends get involved, there is still little to no news of the mother, especially more disturbing in a world ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic. Through the panic, fear and apprehensions of the protagonist, Khoj puts forth a dedicated effort to share its story.
Essentially, the story is a celebration of the health workers who are at the forefront of the health crisis, risking their own lives and health to fight the disease. There is further an attempt to give a glimpse into the lives of the family members of the same workers. Irrespective of the conclusion that the story has in store for the protagonist, the plot serves to accentuate the respect and honour that all of us owe to the doctors and health professionals, working tirelessly and selflessly to keep us safe all over the world.
