From unprotected sex to casual relationships and exploration of one's sexuality, from stigma pertaining to HIV to the lack of awareness around the disease, 'Keeda' engages with them all. There is also an exploration of the parental tendency to compare children, and the detrimental consequences of pitting young people against each other. The true success of the film, however, lies in the fact that it manages to achieve all of this without being overbearing or self-righteous.
The story is essentially about four boys, Sanket, Altaf, Dilip, and their unspoken, de facto leader, Mukya, who spend their time lugging heavy furniture around for those in need of movers. The chemistry of the four actors, their riffing and the portrayal of group dynamics is especially notable and smooth.
The strongest aspect of the film is undoubtedly the story and the manner it adopts to progress, powerful enough to make you overlook its few raw edges, eventually concluding with issues and images that will stay with you long after.
