Juxtaposition is a film that demands the viewer’s time and attention. There is a staccato to the narrative,
which is accentuated by the continuous ticking of the clock that forms the background score of the
film. It makes you acutely aware of the passing time, time that you spend in watching the plot unfold before you.
A man is trying to bolt his gate. He performs the same action about a dozen times before it clicks. He is
writing a letter. He writes something and strikes it off several times. The first words are spoken when
one is already six minutes into the film. The rhythm briefly changes and an eeriness sets in. He is trying to
book tickets to go home for Christmas, but a strange force stops him. All of these elements tie up together to put forth a narrative for the patient viewer who chooses to stay till the end with the film.
