The film opens with a scene of early morning. A little girl has already begun with the household chores while her brother brushes his teeth and plays with a dog. Even within this space that makes the innocence of childhood appear an elusive privilege, the girl is in a position more vulnerable than her brother.

As the narrative develops and we are taken deeper into the lives of the two children who help their father in his job as a daily labourer, the girl's yearning to receive an education is revealed. It is tied in a heartwarming manner with her relationship with her brother who remains empathetic to her desires throughout.

In the process, the film presents a sweet, endearing story of two siblings who are simply navigating their unfortunate location in society. It is in their making sense of the adult world to achieve what they want that the plot and the story complete their journey and eventually share it with the viewer.
