The sci-fi story of ‘Humanoid’ takes place in a fictional, dystopian universe where people crumble and languish under the boot of a Big Brother-esque dictatorial figure. The narrative brings in a hawk as a powerful symbol of surveillance and all-pervasive control of the state over the life of the individual.
At the same time, there is also the attempt to portray the apathy and indifference of the said leader as society burns, and little children hold a plaything like a doll in one hand, and a gun in the other. Anyone who tries to step away from the quiet, obedient herd is met with a terrible fate.
On top of it all, the film also wants to be a comment on a society which is defined by its deep infestation of technology and how it is slowly on its way to becoming an oppressive tool of the state. The images that signify the many acts of cruelty and oppression thus unite as one to present to you the symbolic, brutal realm of 'Humanoid'.
