Very relevant in contemporary times, Doorbell is the story of an activist who is waging a battle against the government. A son of a farmer, he is determined to change the world for the better. Consequently, despite being a gold medalist with degrees from reputed institutions, he chooses a life of struggle and humbleness to be able to bring about that change.
The narrative does a good job of unfolding itself in a manner that allows it to catch the viewer unaware and shocked. It also offers a comment on how ideals, courage, betrayal and the fight for survival are not confined to any one religion or community. All the characters are in it together, and the choices they make will determine the side to which they pledge their loyalty.
