Ronak and Ruhi run into each other most unexpectedly at a train platform. While they joke about Ronak being only a manifestation of Ruhi's thoughts, and not truly part of corporeal reality, Ruhi mentions her flight two days later multiple times. Soon the conversation takes a more somber turn, and the narrative begins its exploration of heartache, things left unsaid, and the many ways they find an articulation in the exchange that follows. <br><br>
While expressing the same emotions, an important character trajectory is achieved, leading to even more crucial realizations. Though the film loses some points when it comes to sound, its writing and the actors' chemistry help to keep it on the right track, echoing its title that subverts expectations in the same way the protagonist’s expectations had been subverted by the chance encounter.
