Shweta is beautifully dressed, all set for a date night with Manav. However, when she calls him, she finds out that not only has he forgotten all about it, but has also scheduled a meeting with an important professional associate the same night. Expectedly, Shweta is miffed at being left in the lurch and refuses to accept his apology. In the conflict that follows, and its eventual resolution, the plot and screenplay are structured in a manner to present a meaningful glimpse into the relationship. <br><br> 

Despite their argument, the communication is handled with ease, along with delineating a safe space between the partners to vent their qualms. As the two characters complete a trajectory of an argument and its peaceful conclusion, we are presented with smooth, free-flowing performances, especially in the portrayal and execution of Shweta’s vulnerability. 


Date Night | Short Film Nominee

The film is exciting and notable in the vast extremes of its opening and closing note. It begins with a boy's conversation about his anxiety disorder with a doctor. However, on his way back from the appointment, things take a turn for the worse when a seedy, corrupt cop finds weed in his car. The protagonist's night continues to devolve into one misadventure after another, eventually leading to the conclusion the viewer should definitely stick around for. <br><br> The writing is the most significant aspect of the film which provides you with familiar and yet unpredictable characters. It further allows the development of events to be organic, despite its short length, overall enabling the film to be an entertaining watch.

Blowback | Short Film Nominee

When a young man finds himself quarantined at home following the coronavirus lockdown, he decides to turn it around into an exploration of all the skills and hobbies he had perhaps always only remotely thought about. Thus, the film becomes a message for the viewer to try and focus on the silver lining - on being allowed the opportunity of more time at hand, one that they did not have earlier.
