Anand is a recluse who interacts with no one - at home or at his workplace. He takes care of his bed-ridden father, a young son, and all his professional duties. We continue to go deeper into his life, but the reticent protagonist offers no verbal expression to help the viewer know him better. However, the visual development so far has painted a life of difficulty, isolation and oppressive unhappiness before us. 

When Anand finally begins to talk, at the prodding of a kind, well-meaning colleague, the revelation arrives. It is in this that the film’s core message lies, a social comment about the misuse of those tools that are present for an efficient functioning of society. Instead of a shield, however, they are being wielded as a weapon, adversely affecting more than one life, states the film. Additionally, it remains marked by competent performances throughout, and an adequate balance between dialogue and silence to share this story.

My Life is Like | Short Film Nominee

The short film is well-meaning and straightforward in its intentions. It presents an average morning in the lives of two characters, each representative of a religious community. As they go about their day, their paths overlap under the most unlikely circumstance - an accidental emergency. A man lies smeared in blood on the side of a road. The men immediately jump to his rescue, ensuring that he gets the much-needed first aid in a hospital, with a slight suggestion within the narrative of his religious identity. 
Without any dialogue, and entirely by way of visual action, the film presents its idea of unity in diversity, and how it can achieve peace and harmony if we only view each other as human beings who all bleed the same.

In the Name Of | Short Film Nominee

The narrative is an attempt to share an important social message with the viewer. It does the same by approaching a situation from the point of view of different people. Additionally, it wants to make the comment that often things boil down to taking that first step. If it is somehow achieved, help will be available to enable you further on the right path. All of this is shown by portraying an assault on a woman that is carried out by three men. While a passer-by begins a live social media broadcast on his phone, documenting the attack instead of helping the girl, comments begin to roll in. As more passers-by take notice, the story offers it comment for the viewer.
