The thematic concern at the heart of the narrative is one about class disparity, financial privilege, along with a suggestion of more wealth leading to more problems. All of this is explored through the eyes of a young man who struggles between his aspiration to complete higher education, and the demands of his father to run their small corner tea-shop. From his position from behind the counter, he watches a wealthy peer live the life that seems a million miles away. However, a longer glimpse into the latter's life brings a seismic change in his perspective, also making the intentions of the plot clear for the viewer. The film evidences potential in weaving a plot marked by its compelling motivations (albeit in want of a little polishing when it comes to execution), and paves the path for more similar projects by the team.

The story is of a single afternoon and how matters come to a head after a particular phone call. A mother, after sending her daughter to school, goes about her daily chores when suddenly she gets a call about her daughter's abduction. The kidnapper leaves a little present of the child's dolls at her doorstep to drive the message home. The narrative tries hard to sustain a sense of unease and tension, but doesn't manage to go all the way through with it. The writing and the story are its strongest parts and just when the viewer is made to believe the climax is over, another unexpected twist awaits them, making the film come a full circle.

Central to the narrative of the film are philosophical underpinnings about the meaning of right and wrong, scruples and principles, and taking the correct decision no matter how difficult the choice might be. The same is explored by juxtaposing the ideas intrinsic to two adjacent time periods as defined by the Hindu mythology - the Kali Yuga and the Dvapara Yuga. Ahead of an imminent shoot, as a young actor prepares for his performance of Aswathama, a pivotal character in the Hindu epic Mahabharata who is cursed to a life of immortality, he is visited by the man himself. It is the ensuing conversation between them that then comes to form the essence of the plot.
