In a country that's premised on secularism, can people's identity be chalked down to a single religion? The short film seems to suggest it can be indeed, but in quite an unpredictable manner. The strengths of One Faith are several - from elegant visuals to smooth transitions, from adept writing to its inability to hold the viewer's attention. The narrative also earns full points for having an endearing twist at the end. The short film thus becomes a wholesome product to be consumed on a gloomy day to rekindle your faith in mankind's ability to be kind, make friends, and above all, not take things too seriously.

What the film succeeds at is weaving an endearing story about a child making his way in the adult world. The primary tool for achieving this is the strategic and smooth camerawork the narrative employs to juxtapose a diminutive presence against an overwhelming skyscraper right in its opening shot. As a little boy wades his way in a multi-storeyed building, allowing his little bag of trinkets and toys undergo security checks, the viewer is hooked to find out the purpose of this visit. Of course the security and professionals in the work space are minor obstacles to be overcome by him in his determined path to achieve his goal. He barges into a room full of powerful adults, beings alien to his world of innocence and single-minded desires, yet our little protagonist is undaunted. However, now that he has arrived at his destination, what would be the final battle, and more importantly, would it be a victorious one?

The very first visual of the ad film sets the premise for what the rest of it is going to be about. Two women sit watching the television, when one of them, played by a chippy Rasika Dugal, spies the entry of a cockroach, timed at the same time as the entry of the hero in the film they are watching. As the two women figure out the solution to their problem of insect control, the film maintains its chirpy, effervescent tone. It does not pretend to be anything more than what it is - a crisp narrative that talks about a product in an impactful manner, and that indeed works for it most successfully.

The ad film is a light-hearted portrayal of two junior employees trying to curry favour with their boss. As they sit in his office, their uninterested senior professional, who instead of the business at hand, cares more about bantering over a snack prepared by his wife, offers them something to eat. The narrative further adopts a humorous approach to communicate to the viewer that while it's okay to share a cold meal with your boss, you need not be making the same compromise elsewhere. What works for this ad film is the sequencing of short, crisp shots that conveys its message in an impactful way. The tightness of the entire video both enhances and accentuates this message, while capping it all with a little humour thrown in for good measure.

The ad film tells the unfortunate story of a man's struggle to not wreak havoc on his bed while watching a football match. Though his bachelor days might not have entirely seen this as an obstacle, things change after he gets married. The constant creaking of the mattress leaves his wife unimpressed and she communicates the displeasure in no equivocal terms. Hello, a new fancy mattress which ensures that only one side of the bed is disrupted, even during vigorous movement, keeping the other side protected from the said havoc. The short video is direct in its attempt to put the message across, and this is also why it succeeds in achieving the same.
